Shenhua Yili Energy Co., Ltd. was jointly funded by Shenhua Shendong Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Yili Resources Group Co., Ltd. in a ratio of 51:49. The company was established in August 2005 with a registered capital of 1.4 billion yuan. It mainly constructs and operates the 4×200MW coal gangue self-provided power plant in Dalate Banner and the supporting Huangyuchuan coal mine with an annual output of 10 million tons in Zhungeer Banner. The total investment in the project is 6.11966 billion yuan, including 3.62647 billion yuan for the power plant project and 2.49319 billion yuan for the coal mine project. The company currently has 420 employees. Shenhua Yili 4×200MW coal gangue self-provided power plant is located in Yili Chemical Park, Shulinzhao Town, Dalate Banner, Inner Mongolia. It was officially approved by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission in January 2004 and officially started in May 2006.
