The relocation project of Suzhou Fifth People's Hospital is a key construction project of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government in 2011. It is to meet the medical needs of public health events such as the prevention and treatment of sudden infectious diseases under the new situation. The new hospital has a total investment of 470 million yuan, covers an area of 90 mu, has a total construction area of 75,000 square meters, and has 600 beds (expandable to 700 beds in an emergency). The hospital has 6,800 information points as a whole. According to the design concept of international modern hospitals, the hospital follows the five design principles of "safety and reliability, scientific rationality, resource sharing, humanized design and sustainable development" in its design, and strives to create a modern infectious disease comprehensive hospital that meets international standards. After the new hospital is put into use, it will become a modern medical diagnosis and treatment base in Suzhou that integrates the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and occupational diseases, teaching, and scientific research.
