Beijing Shilong Economic Development Zone is located in Mentougou District in the west of Beijing, 20 kilometers from the city center. It was established in January 1992 with the approval of the Beijing Municipal People's Government and was one of the earliest industrial development zones included in the overall urban construction plan of Beijing, with a planned area of 4 square kilometers. It was promoted to a municipal industrial development zone at the end of 2000.
